Resume, discard, or restore a draft
Open Library, then choose Drafts to resume every active Authoring project without losing how it began or what it will become.
Read the active draft list
Section titled “Read the active draft list”Library is the complete active list. The Pick up where you left off shelf on Create is only a recent-work shortcut. Draft cards may represent blank projects, Craft Pattern starts, AI-assisted drafts, remixes, or unpublished edits to an existing library project.
Select the project you want to reopen Authoring. Once that effort reaches Ready or Published, Library shows its single project card instead of a second draft card. Publishing later edits updates that project rather than creating a duplicate.
Discard work you do not need
Section titled “Discard work you do not need”Discard removes a draft from the active list but does not immediately destroy it. Use this for abandoned experiments, accidental starts, or variants you no longer plan to finish.
Open the draft card’s Project actions menu and choose Discard draft.
Check the title, then confirm Discard draft. Rectangle removes the card from the active list and offers a brief Undo action. If you do not undo, the draft remains recoverable for 30 days.
Open discarded drafts
Section titled “Open discarded drafts”On Library -> Drafts, scroll below the active grid and select the discarded-draft count. This quiet recovery link appears only when your account has at least one recoverable draft.
Restore during the retention window
Section titled “Restore during the retention window”The Discarded drafts page lists the projects still inside their recovery window, with the soonest-to-expire work first. Select Restore to return a project to Library -> Drafts, then continue editing normally.
After the displayed window ends, Rectangle permanently removes the discarded draft. Restore first if you are unsure; you can discard it again later.
Delete a discarded draft permanently
Section titled “Delete a discarded draft permanently”Choose Delete permanently only when you want to end the recovery window immediately. Rectangle asks for a second confirmation and allows this action only for a draft that is already discarded. Permanent deletion cannot be undone or restored.
An AI assistant may also create or update a draft, but it cannot move that draft to Ready, publish it, assign it, or delete it permanently on your behalf.
