Answer a student question in Guide

Questions in Guide remain private to the student or team unless you deliberately compose a separate class-wide post.

Use the reply arrow on a Quick questions row to answer without leaving the map. Enter sends, Shift+Enter adds a line, and Escape closes the draft. Select the image to enlarge it.

Hover or focus a Quick questions row, then select its reply arrow. The inline panel expands the full question so you are not answering from the shortened row preview.

Write a plain-text answer, then:

  • select Send it or press Enter to send;
  • press Shift+Enter for another line;
  • select Cancel or press Escape to close without sending.

After a successful answer, the question leaves the lane. A failed send keeps the words available so you can retry.

Open the row when you need the full thread and milestone context. The student's private thread remains the source; class sharing is a separate, optional composition. Select the image to enlarge it.

Select the main question row when you need the conversation, milestone brief, project context, or earlier messages.

The header identifies the student or team. Within a team thread, each message identifies the person who wrote it. Write in Your answer, then select the private answer action.

Use the full thread when a short answer could miss context. It also provides the opt-in class-sharing control and a door to the assignment’s Announcements area.

Closing the panel or pressing another shortcut does not resolve the question. It leaves Quick questions only after a real answer succeeds.
