Read the Active assignment board

Use the Active Overview board to understand how each team or student is moving through the project. Switch its pivot depending on whether you are following one group across the arc or checking one milestone across the class.

Overview is the one-project operating board. Read it by team or milestone, then open a cell for evidence or use Check in without losing the board. Select the image to enlarge it.

By team keeps one team or student on each row and one milestone in each column. A cell can show no submission, current work, quiet work, submitted work, revision state, or a grade.

  • Select a working or graded cell to open a read-only Peek.
  • Use the stable Check in action at the end of the row when that group needs a message.
  • Treat quiet as comparative context, not a permanent student label. It appears only when this work is unusually stale for the current phase.

Select By milestone to group the same evidence under each stage of the project.

By milestone answers what is happening at one stage of the project; By team answers how one group is moving across the whole arc. Select the image to enlarge it.

This view makes it easier to see which milestones are graded, where submissions are missing, what is live, and which groups will arrive next. Use View work on a completed milestone to move into its evidence.

The assignment header keeps the current milestone, class, team count, triage totals, and next timing signal visible. The board does not replace Submissions or Grades:

  • use Submissions for focused review, approval, and revision requests;
  • use Grades for scoring, publishing, curves, and export;
  • use Timeline when the question is pace or dates rather than work state.

The board is for locating the right next action while keeping the whole project in view.
