Guide overview

Guide is the cross-class place for the work that needs a teacher’s attention now. It brings submissions, questions, quiet-work signals, and project context together without turning any of them into an automated judgment.

Open Guide from the main navigation. The map keeps new work, questions, quiet students or teams, and project context together; First up opens the oldest unhandled item. Select the image to enlarge it.
  • New work contains submitted milestones waiting for review. Comparable submissions for the same milestone form a set when at least three are pending.
  • Quick questions contains unanswered student or team threads. You can answer inline or open the complete conversation.
  • Gone quiet · your call contains neutral activity facts. Guide does not label a student as struggling or decide that a message should be sent.
  • Your projects contains read-only project orientation. Assignment operations still belong in Assign; grades belong in Assess.

The right side is the stage. When nothing is selected, it explains the current room and offers First up as one neutral starting point. First up is the oldest unhandled item, not a priority score or a recommendation about which student matters most.

Use Guide to move across every active class and project and respond to what has arrived. Use Assign when you need to operate one assignment: its schedule, participants, announcements, and other project controls. Use Assess to score work and release grades.

Guide keeps those boundaries visible. Submission review uses rubric language but no scores. A project overview is read-only and links back to Assign. A completed review can lead toward Assess when grading is the next job.

Guide does not write feedback, infer student ability, rank people, or send a quiet-work message on its own. It provides the relevant work and context, then leaves the judgment and the words to the teacher.

When the visible queue is cleared, Guide can summarize only the actions completed in the current session. Quiet items can remain visible even when all submitted work and questions have been handled.
