Attach content standards to milestones

Attach a content standard to the milestone where students actually learn or use it. This keeps standards connected to the work that produces evidence.

Select a milestone in the left list to edit its duration, description, content standards, and deliverables together. Drag milestones or deliverables when the learning sequence changes. Select the image to enlarge it.

The selected milestone shows attached standards and deterministic suggestions alongside its deliverables. Suggestions are starting points, not automatic mappings; accept only the ones the milestone genuinely addresses.

  1. Open Milestones and select the milestone.
  2. In Content standards, choose the edit or add control.
  3. Search by code or keyword.
  4. Confirm the subject, grade band, and framework scope.
  5. Select the standards that belong to this milestone, then add them.
Attach content standards to the milestone where students learn and demonstrate that content. Search starts in your home framework and the project's subject and grade context; widen it deliberately when needed. Select the image to enlarge it.

Rectangle searches the project’s subject and grade band and uses your home framework by default. Widen the framework or grade scope only when the project intentionally crosses that boundary.

Rectangle may suggest standards from the milestone’s current text and project context. Accept a suggestion to attach it, or dismiss it when the match is not instructionally meaningful. The suggestion process is deterministic; it does not silently add standards.

Remove a standard from a milestone when students no longer work with it there. If it still belongs elsewhere in the project, attach it to the correct milestone instead.

Content standards belong on milestones. Practices, habits, and competencies that describe the quality of evidence belong on rubric criteria.
