Understand your teacher home
Home is the first page a teacher reaches after signing in. It gives one project the main focus, keeps the rest of the work in view, and offers direct doors into the Rectangle areas that own each next step.
Read Home from top to bottom
Section titled “Read Home from top to bottom”The date line states how many projects and class sections are currently in motion. The large focus area then names one truthful situation from one project. Its project card carries the full title, and Jump into this project opens the relevant work in Guide when a submission is waiting or the assignment in Assign otherwise.
The rest of your work, in motion keeps other project journeys visible without repeating the focused project. The week ahead uses the dates already saved on assignments and looks only at the next seven days.
When active authoring drafts exist, a short bench preserves where you left them. Worth a look then offers three published projects chosen by Rectangle, and Thinking about · this week closes the page with the current editorial note or a truthful evergreen reflection.
Understand what Home does not replace
Section titled “Understand what Home does not replace”- Use Home to orient across the current project landscape.
- Use Guide to respond across projects to submitted work, questions, and quiet-work facts.
- Use Assign to configure or operate one assignment and to see the complete assignment shelf.
- Use Assess for grades and standards reporting.
- Use Library to manage saved projects, authored work, Collections, and drafts.
Home deliberately routes into those areas instead of becoming a second action queue, assignment manager, or analytics dashboard.
When nothing is running yet
Section titled “When nothing is running yet”With no active, staged, or recently completed project journey, Home becomes Rectangle’s first-time starting point.
Use the opening doors to browse or create a project and set up Classes. The empty work, calendar, and draft areas explain what they will hold once work begins. Home does not invent sample students or projects, and it does not add a setup checklist, progress score, tour, or welcome task that can become stale.
If a teacher has drafts but no project running yet, the real draft bench appears in place of the empty draft explanation so the saved work remains reachable.
