Share an answer with the class

When one private question is likely to help the class, Guide can compose a new class Q&A entry without publishing the student’s private thread or identity.

Class sharing publishes only the selected student message as context, your anonymous question line, and your answer preview. The student's private thread and identity do not become the public post. Select the image to enlarge it.
  1. Open the complete question thread.
  2. Write the answer in Your answer.
  3. Turn on Share the answer with class.
  4. Select the student message or messages that supply the useful private context. The first student message begins selected.
  5. Write Question the class will see in your own anonymous wording.
  6. Review the Q: and A: preview.
  7. Select Reply & post to the class.

The public question line is teacher-authored. Rectangle does not silently copy the student’s private wording or name into the shared post.

With sharing on, two actions remain visible:

  • Reply & post to the class answers the private thread and creates the class Q&A post as one composed action.
  • Just answer name answers only the private thread.

The class-post action is available only when an answer, at least one included student message, and a nonblank public question line are present. If the combined action fails, nothing should be half-posted; retry from the preserved composer.

The original thread remains private. The class sees the teacher-authored question line and answer preview, not the student’s identity or the rest of the private conversation. Always read the preview before posting.
