Remix a published project

Remix a published project when you want to preserve a useful source and make a version for your own learners.

Open an eligible published project in Find and choose Remix. Rectangle creates or resumes your private adaptation while preserving the source teacher and project; the source also records how many adaptations have been published. Select the image to enlarge it.
  1. Open an eligible published project in Find.
  2. Review its overview, project arc, standards, and rubric.
  3. Select Remix beside the Save and Assign actions.

Rectangle creates a private draft owned by you. If you return to the same source while that remix draft still exists, Rectangle resumes it instead of creating repeated unfinished copies.

Use the normal five Authoring tabs to change the context, sequence, deliverables, standards, or rubric. The draft preserves the source project and teacher even as your content diverges.

Explain why the adaptation fits your learners and review the structural changes before publishing. Cross-teacher remixes require a meaningful rationale; automatic and teacher-selected tags help future teachers understand the variation. Select the image to enlarge it.

On the Publish tab, explain how the project changed to work for your learners. For a cross-teacher remix, the rationale must be meaningful enough to help future teachers understand the adaptation.

Review the automatically detected structural tags, select any additional changes that apply, and compare the source before publishing. Your published version keeps its own authorship while crediting the source.

The presence of a Remix action means the current project is eligible.
