Use a class's Assignments tab

The Assignments tab gives you a class-specific view of project work. It is useful for checking what is happening now, what is scheduled next, and what has finished without leaving the class home.

Assignments keeps the class-year timeline and direct doors into Assign and Gradebook together. Select the image to enlarge it.
  1. Open Classes and select the class.
  2. Select Assignments.
  3. If the class has no assignments yet, select Assign a project.
  4. Choose or create the project in Assign, then finish the assignment setup.

After the class has project work, this tab becomes its assignment overview. Use Assign in the main navigation when you need to create another assignment.

Rectangle orders the class’s work so the most useful stages are easy to scan:

  • Active work is currently running. The row can show the current milestone, relevant dates, and how teams were formed.
  • Staged work has been prepared for a future start. Students cannot see it yet.
  • Draft work is still being set up.
  • Complete work has finished and remains available for grading and reference.
  • Archived work remains in the class history without appearing as current work.

The timeline summarizes Active, Staged, and Complete work. Draft and archived assignments remain available in the status list even though they are not timeline stops.

Select an assignment’s name to open its record in Assign. The action at the end of a row reflects the next useful destination:

  • Active assignments offer Open in Assign and Gradebook.
  • Staged and draft assignments offer Open in Assign.
  • Complete and archived assignments offer Gradebook.

Use Assign to change assignment setup or timing. Use Gradebook to review submissions and grades. If the Assignments tab cannot load, select Try again; Rectangle leaves the rest of the class home available.
