Add and organize milestone deliverables

Deliverables name the evidence students will make during each milestone. They can be a final product, a thinking artifact, or a checkpoint that prepares later work.

Select a milestone in the left list to edit its duration, description, content standards, and deliverables together. Drag milestones or deliverables when the learning sequence changes. Select the image to enlarge it.
  1. Open Milestones and select the stage where the work belongs.
  2. Choose Add deliverable.
  3. Start from a familiar format or choose blank.
Choose the format that best communicates what students must make. Rectangle copies the scaffold into this milestone, where you can edit its title, description, individual or group mode, and submission format. Select the image to enlarge it.

The picker includes eight recognizable formats—such as a document, presentation, image, link, file, or other evidence shape—plus a blank option. The choice gives the deliverable a useful starting structure; it does not limit what students can ultimately make.

Edit the title and description so students know what to submit and what makes it useful. Set the work mode when the deliverable is specifically individual or collaborative. A deliverable without a clear purpose can make a milestone look complete while leaving students unsure what evidence is expected.

Arrange deliverables in the order students should encounter them within the milestone. Delete one when it no longer contributes to the stage, and check Reading View afterward to make sure the student-facing sequence still reads naturally.

Deliverables are milestone-specific. If the same kind of artifact is needed in two different stages, create an appropriately worded deliverable in each milestone rather than assuming one item covers both moments.
