Review the assignment project

The assignment Project tab is the read view of the copy this class will use. Review its milestones, deliverables, rubric, standards, and resources before launch. When something needs to change, open assignment editing; the source project in Find or Library stays untouched.

Project shows the class-owned copy used by this assignment. Editing here changes this run without rewriting the source project in Find or Library. Select the image to enlarge it.
  1. Open a Draft or Staged assignment.
  2. Select Project.
  3. Review the project identity and the notice that this is the class-owned copy.
  4. Expand milestones and deliverables to confirm the sequence and student directions.
  5. Review the rubric, standards, and resources chapters.

The assignment copy can diverge from its template. Changes here affect this class run only.

Expand a criterion to read its student-facing level descriptions from Beginning through Advanced.

Open a criterion to inspect the student-facing level language. Edit rubric opens the assignment copy in authoring when the criteria or levels need revision. Select the image to enlarge it.

Select Edit rubric when the criteria or level language need to change. Do not use Schedule for content changes; Schedule owns time only.

Select Edit in authoring from Project, or choose Actions → Edit Assignment.

Rectangle opens a separate authoring workspace for the assignment copy. Continue with Edit the project for one assignment for the fields you can change, the explicit save step, Reading View, and the template comparison in Review.

  • Editing an assignment does not update the source project or other class assignments created from it.
  • Assignment editing keeps schedule and structural controls separate from content editing so existing student work stays connected.
  • Use Remix from a completed assignment when you want a reusable new project, not a hidden rewrite of the finished run.
