Approve work or ask for another version
The bottom of a submitted-work review separates three teacher decisions: approve the work, ask for another version, or ask a question before deciding.
Approve with feedback
Section titled “Approve with feedback”- Read the submitted work and any attached notes.
- Save comments that belong to individual pieces.
- Write any submission-wide comment in Your feedback to name.
- Select Approve.
Approval means this milestone can move forward. It does not assign a score in Guide. The approved work can become ready for grading in Assess.
Approve without feedback
Section titled “Approve without feedback”Overall feedback is optional for approval. If the field is blank and you select Approve, Rectangle pauses with two choices:
- Add feedback returns to the composer.
- Approve anyway confirms the approval with no overall comment.
The A keyboard shortcut approves directly, so use it only after checking the work and feedback state.
Ask for another version
Section titled “Ask for another version”Select Ask for a revision to open the revision composer. Send Revision Request remains unavailable until the message contains nonblank guidance. The action needs to tell the student or team what to work on next.
When the direction is ready, select Send Revision Request. The current submission remains in history, and the student sees the next attempt as a new Version. Cancel returns to the normal approval composer without sending.
Assignments set to One shot normally auto-approve incoming work and do not show the revision path. Assignments that allow revisions use the full review loop described here.
What happens after the decision
Section titled “What happens after the decision”After a successful approval or revision request, Guide advances according to the current pace. In normal mode it offers the next item; in Quick Mode it opens the next prefetched item directly.
If an action reports an error, do not assume the review was saved. Keep the page open and retry after the control becomes available.
