Approve and grade without leaving Assign

Use Approve & grade when submitted work is ready to leave review and you want to score it without leaving Assign. The light Grade Sheet keeps the evidence, rubric, feedback, and next actions together.

From Submissions, select Grade ▸ on work that still needs review. Rectangle asks you to confirm approval first.

Grade from a needs-review submission first confirms approval. Continue only when the work is ready to leave review and enter grading. Select the image to enlarge it.

Add an optional note to the group if useful, then select Approve & grade. Cancel when the work still needs review or another version.

The light grading sheet keeps the evidence and rubric together. Save a teacher-only draft, move to the next item, publish one grade, or open the full grader for member-level adjustments. Select the image to enlarge it.

The sheet identifies the participant and milestone. Use it to:

  1. select a rubric level or supported half-step for each criterion;
  2. reveal level descriptions with show levels;
  3. open the work evidence with view work;
  4. add a criterion comment where the feedback belongs to one score;
  5. add Overall feedback for the result as a whole.

Private observation notes can appear as context, but they do not enter the score and are not student feedback.

  • Save draft keeps the grade teacher-only.
  • Grade & next saves and moves to the next gradeable item.
  • Publish grade publishes this one result after confirmation.
  • Open full grading moves to the full grader when you need member-level adjustments or its deeper controls.
Publishing one grade makes that grade and feedback visible to the team immediately. Cancel leaves the saved grade as a teacher-only draft. Select the image to enlarge it.

Publishing makes the named grade and feedback visible immediately. Canceling the confirmation leaves the saved grade as a teacher-only draft.
