Change class settings

Class settings control two classroom-wide behaviors: whether milestone dates may fall on weekends and how much celebration students see. Owners and co-teachers can change these settings for an active class.

Class-specific behavior and the archive action live in Settings. Select the image to enlarge it.
  1. Select Classes in the main navigation.
  2. Open the class.
  3. Select Settings.

Changes save automatically. When a save fails, Rectangle shows an error and returns the control to its previous value so you can try again.

Turn on Weekend milestone dates when this class may schedule milestones on Saturday or Sunday.

This class control depends on the matching preference in your account settings. If the account preference is off, Rectangle shows a link to Turn it on in Settings before the class can allow weekend dates. Turning the account preference off later clears weekend permission from the classes you own.

The account-level weekend preference must be on before an individual class can allow weekend milestone dates. Select the image to enlarge it.

Use Celebrations to choose how much visual celebration students see:

  • Standard uses the regular celebration experience.
  • Minimal uses a quieter experience.

Your account’s teaching preference supplies the starting value for newly created or imported classes. Changing that account preference does not rewrite classes that already exist; change an existing class here when it needs a different choice.

The selected account default becomes the starting celebration intensity for new and imported classes. Select the image to enlarge it.

Assistants can view the current settings but cannot change them. Settings are also unavailable while a class is archived. The class owner can use Unarchive class in this section to restore the class and its controls.

Only the owner can archive or unarchive a class. Archiving preserves the class while removing it from normal active-class work; deleting is a separate permanent action available from the class actions menu.
