Set revision, late-work, and grading rules

Use Settings on a Draft or Staged assignment to decide how revisions, late deductions, and rubric scores work for this class run. New assignments start from your Teaching defaults, but each assignment keeps its own saved choices.

Settings controls how feedback cycles, late deductions, and rubric scores behave for this assignment. Reflections are visible but currently always on. Select the image to enlarge it.

Under Feedback & revisions, choose:

  • Full feedback cycle to approve work or request another version. A revision request requires written feedback.
  • One-shot for work that should be approved when submitted without a revision cycle.

Student-facing copy calls resubmissions “versions.” Changing the account default later does not rewrite this assignment.

Under Late work, choose No penalty or a Per day deduction. When using a daily deduction, set the cap so the total reduction cannot grow past the limit you intend.

Review the saved summary before leaving the section. This rule belongs to the assignment, not the source project.

Select the mapping that translates rubric scores into the grade representation you use:

  • Traditional
  • Standards-based
  • Custom
Choose a preset or define a custom mapping from rubric scores to percentages and letters. This assignment keeps its own saved mapping. Select the image to enlarge it.

For a custom map, review each level and its score, percentage, and letter. Make the sequence internally consistent before saving so a stronger rubric result does not map below a weaker one.

The Reflections area is visible in Settings, but it is not a configurable shipped control yet. Treat the displayed state as fixed rather than promising students or teachers a setting that is not available.
