Archive, unarchive, or delete an assignment
Archive keeps a completed assignment in your project history as read-only. Unarchive returns it to Completed. Delete is a separate permanent action that removes the assignment and its student work.
Choose from Completed actions
Section titled “Choose from Completed actions”Open Actions on the Completed assignment. Use Archive when you want to keep the history but stop changing it. Use Delete Assignment only when the entire assignment and its work should be permanently removed.
Archive the assignment
Section titled “Archive the assignment”Select Archive and review the confirmation.
Archiving keeps the assignment available as read-only. Print and Remix remain available, and you can unarchive later. Select Archive project to confirm.
Archived sections remain readable, including the summary, standards demonstrated, portfolio, gradebook, and retrospective. Editing requires Unarchive.
Unarchive
Section titled “Unarchive”Select Unarchive and review the resulting state.
Unarchive returns the assignment to Completed, where its summary and closeout tools can be edited again. It does not return the assignment to Active or reopen student work. Use Reopen separately if the class must resume the project.
Delete permanently
Section titled “Delete permanently”Select Actions → Delete Assignment.
The confirmation names the assignment and warns that its submissions, grades, and comments will be permanently removed and cannot be restored. Select Delete only when that is the intended result.
If the goal is merely to remove old work from current views, cancel and use Archive instead. If deletion fails, remain on the page, refresh its current state, and retry only after confirming the assignment still exists.
