Search, filter, and sort projects

Use Find’s search and filters together when you have a concrete teaching need. The active controls describe one shared result set; they do not replace one another.

Search checks project titles, driving questions, and topics. Active filters remain in force, and the curated shelves step aside so the matches are immediately visible. Select the image to enlarge it.

Enter a phrase in the search field and press Enter. Search checks project titles, driving questions, and topics, so a useful phrase can find a project even when the exact words are not in its title.

The query remains in the field. The result count and All projects grid update, while the curated shelves step aside so matches are not stranded below them. Select the clear icon in the search field to remove only the query.

Subject, grade, and duration narrow the same result set. Clear filters removes those narrowing choices; search, Sort, and Coverage focus keep their own controls. Select the image to enlarge it.
  • Subject can include more than one discipline.
  • Grade narrows to a grade band; use one band at a time in the current catalog.
  • Duration narrows by the time available for the project.
  • Clear filters removes subject, grade, and duration choices. It does not clear the search field, change Sort, or turn off Coverage focus.

The Sort menu currently shows For you, Newest, and A → Z. For you uses relevance when you search and recent publication when you browse. Newest explicitly uses recent publication. A → Z is visible in the current build but does not yet apply a distinct alphabetical order, so do not depend on it for alphabetic scanning yet.

A zero-result search keeps the active query visible and offers honest recovery paths. Simplify the query or filters before deciding the catalog has no suitable project. Select the image to enlarge it.

A zero-result state preserves the query and controls that produced it. Try a simpler phrase, remove one filter, or select Browse Find to return to the unfiltered catalog.

Build from scratch is useful only when the missing project should become a new authored project. View all library projects opens the broader public catalog; it is not a way to bypass a Find-only filter while keeping the same result state.
