Compare submission versions in Assign

Rectangle keeps every submitted version and its feedback. Use the version controls in Submissions to compare the current work with an earlier attempt without changing which version is eligible for review.

  1. Open the Active assignment.
  2. Select Submissions.
  3. Choose the milestone and participant.
  4. Review the current version, evidence, and feedback.
Confirm the participant, milestone, submitted evidence, and context before acting. Approve, request a revision, and grading remain explicit separate choices. Select the image to enlarge it.

Under Versions, select an earlier pill such as V1.

Version pills preserve the revision trail. Earlier work and feedback stay readable but are not the current submission to approve or grade. Select the image to enlarge it.

The detail identifies the selected version and shows what the participant turned in at that point. Earlier work and its feedback are read-only. They are preserved for comparison, but they are not the current submission to approve, return, or grade.

Select the newest version pill to return to the actionable submission.

Compare the evidence and feedback across versions to understand what changed. Do not copy an old action forward by assumption: confirm the current participant, milestone, and version before selecting a review or grading control.

Student-facing language calls each resubmission a version. The assignment’s revision policy determines whether the cycle is available; One-shot assignments do not offer the request-another-version path in the normal review flow.
